Centra Cam's History

In 1974 a group of three ladies met to discuss methods by which Camrose and area citizens with hidden and visible disabilities could be assisted to achieve their full potential and to provide a secure rewarding work environment where individual effort is recognized.

In 1979 Centra Cam Cleaning Association was incorporated as a non profit society. In 1981 the name was changed to Centra Cam Vocational Training Association.

Until 1983 the association was operated out of rented facilities. In June of 1983 the doors were opened to a new facility that was made possible through the generosity of the community and service groups of Camrose and surrounding area.

Since that time the association has expanded to also provide services from Recycle with Centra Cam, Camrose Employment Services, The Emergency Clothing and Furniture Depot, Centra Cam Custom Projects, and Centra Cam's Outlet Store.
